It is with great pleasure that today we announce that Lance Real Estate is open for business – again.
35 years ago, Lance started his career in residential property and quickly grew it to become the leading agency in the North-Eastern suburbs of Johannesburg. In 1996 he decided to broaden his horizons and moved to Cape Town.
Arriving as he did, 23 years ago, he was someone unknown to the local community. Within a short period of time, Camps Bay beachgoers found themselves driving past roadside billboards advertising properties for sale by Lance Real Estate, or sitting under Lance Real Estate umbrellas. Word quickly spread that there was a new guy in town.
Lance Cohen began to build a name for himself as an area specialist covering the Atlantic Seaboard. And what an area specialist he turned out to be, becoming a real thorn in the side of the established estate agency brands. Brands which had for decades dominated these suburbs in terms of property sales and lets.
It came as no surprise that one such brand approached Lance with a proposal to join them. After negotiating favourable terms, which included retaining rights to the Lance Real Estate brand, he accepted.
In the years
Lance spent with them he won their Regional “Agent of the Year” Award – 10 years
in a row!
He also went on to win the National “Agent of the Year Award” and the “Highest
Turnover of the Year Award”, for 9 successive years.
To crown his
phenomenal achievements, he was also awarded the privileged “Chairman’s Award”
on two occasions.
Such consistent achievements were unheard of in the company’s 50-year history,
made even more remarkable as he was constrained to just three suburbs; Clifton,
Bantry Bay and Fresnaye.
Times change and people move on.
At the end of 2019, Lance decided to close a happy chapter with the company and rekindle his entrepreneurial flame by re-launching his Lance Real Estate brand, characterised by the familiar knight – with a lance in his hand – mounted on a rearing horse.
No longer
constrained to any area, Lance Real Estate now covers the entire Atlantic
Seaboard, specialising in house and apartment sales as well as long- and
short-term rentals.

Cyprus for South African buyers.
I have recently returned from Mauritius and am delighted to announce that we
have secured rights to some delightful properties and new developments. These
comply with the Integrated Resort Scheme initiative of the Mauritian government
to facilitate the acquisition of property by foreigners. Through this scheme,
foreigners can become Mauritian residents.”
